Gillen, William S.

wgWILLIAM S. GILLEN is a founding member of the office.  He obtained his law degree at the New England School of Law where he competed nationally as a member of the Tax Moot Court. During law school, he held internships at the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board and the Richmond County Surrogate’s Court.

William received a B.S. in Accounting from Fordham University. He attended Fordham on a scholarship he received from J.P. Morgan Chase where he worked in Corporate Tax.

William began his legal career as an Associate at a boutique New York City law firm specializing in estate planning and administration, elder care, special needs planning and real estate transactions.

In 2009, William established a private practice focusing on estate planning, probate and estate administration, special needs planning, adult guardianship and real estate transactions. His practice also includes being a member of the Family Court Assigned Counsel Plan and Attorneys for Children Program, where he represents adults and children in all matters before the Family Court.

He is an active member of the Richmond County and New York State Bar Associations as well as the Bay Ridge Lawyers Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors.
